Equipment

 

1. Bath-type sonicator

Sonication uses an ultrasonic bath applying sound energy to disperse liquid containing particles as well
as cleaning the equipment.

2. Probe-type sonicator

Sonication uses an ultrasonic probe (BRANSON 5520) applying sound energy to disperse liquid containing
particles.

3. Vacuum aspirator

In our laboratory, vacuum aspirator (Eyela A-1000S) is usually used to filter particles from liquid
using vacuum pump.

4. Vacuum desiccator

Vacuum desiccator with pump (ULVAC DAP-6D) is used to stabilize and preserve samples under vacuum
condition.

5. pH meter

Automatic titrator and pH meter AUT-501 (TOA-DKK Corp.) is an equipment to determine and adjust the pH
of the solutions.

6. UV ozone cleaner

UV Ozone Cleaner (OCA-150L-D) is capable of removing contamination on the surface of samples, providing
you with ultraclean surfaces within minutes.

7. UV-Vis Spectrophotometer

UV-Vis spectrophotometer in our lab (UV-2600 Shimadzu) is able to determine the concentration of
specific analytes in a microvolume by controlling the analysis wavelengths and the pathlength.

8. Surface Area and Pore Size Analyzer

Surface area and pore size analyzer (Nova 2200e) is used to measure the surface area and pore size of a
sample.

9. Compact Etcher

Plasma etching system FA-1 is compact desktop dry etching equipment that analyzes defects in
semiconductor chips

10. Compact tube furnace

Compact tube furnace with silicone carbide heating (Nabertherm HTC 80-230/15/P330) is for gas atmosphere
or vacuum applications.

11. Turbular furnace system

Turbular furnaces system with high-precision 3-zone control (Koyo KTF series) both big and small size in
our laboratory are mainly used for the synthesis of nanotubes.

12. Rotating ring disk electrode

A rotating ring-disc electrode (RRDE) is a double working electrode used in hydrodynamic voltammetry
where electrode rotates during experiments inducing a flux of analyte to the electrode.

13. Electrochemical measurement systems

High-performance electrochemical measurement systems can perform basic measurements with PC control via
Ethernet (such as OCP, LSV, and CV).

14. Electrochemical measurement systems

charge/discharge measurement.

18. Electronic load device

An “electronic load device” is a device that uses semiconductors such as transistors instead of variable
resistors. The electronic load device that uses semiconductors can freely change the current and
voltage, so it can be used as a variety of loads by incorporating a control circuit.

19. DC power supply with voltage / current measuring
instrument
This system can apply a constant voltage or a constant current. At the same time, the voltage and
current values are monitored and the data is saved.

20. Polarization Unit

Potentialstat / galvanostat PS-06 when combined with an XY recorder becomes a cyclic voltammetry or
automatic polarization device.

21. Temperature and Humidity Chamber

Temperature humidity chambers (also known as climatic or climate test chambers) simulate the effects
that a range of temperature and humidity conditions have on a sample.

22. Dipping equipment

In our laboratory, personal dipping equipment Filgen Model DPM 100 with motor drive control Sigma Koki
SHOT-202 is mainly used to dip the electrode into catalyst solution prior to synthesization.

23. Bath stirrer

A bath stirrer is laboratory equipment made from a container filled with stirred heated water or oil to
incubate samples at a constant temperature over a long period of time.

24. Millipore purification water system

Direct-Q systems deliver both pure and ultrapure water directly from tap for use with a wide variety of
applications in lab.

25. Laboratory oven

This laboratory oven is used to dry the equipment and scientific instruments after washed.

26. Laboratory fridge

The Pharmaceutical Refrigerator is the ideal biologic storage environment for precise control and
superior temperature uniformity.

27. Digital scale

The laboratory digital scale can be used for weighing as well as for piece counting in daily laboratory
use.

28. QCM equipment

Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM) is an extremely sensitive mass balance that measures nanogram to
microgram level changes in mass per unit area.

29. Stirring hot plate

The stirring hot plate is very useful when you need to mix component, either solids or liquids and get a
homogeneous liquid mixture.

30. Cyclic Charge-Discharge Instrument

This charge and discharge system equipment with 8 channels is used for battery pack cycle life test,
charge/discharge test, capacity test and charge-discharge efficiency test.

31. LCR meter, DC supply and Multimeter

LCR meter is electronic test equipment used to measure the inductance (L), capacitance (C), and
resistance (R) of an electronic component. DC supply is an electrical device that supplies  a
constant DC voltage to its load while multimeter is used to measure voltage, current and resistance.

32. Gas line system

Laboratory gas line system distributes continuous gas supply for researches and experiments.

33. Hot press

The hot press machine is an equipment to develop special materials, such as polymer and composite.

34. Organic Synthesizer

The organic synthesizer has four chambers where individual setting of the temperature for each position
allows the achievement of the most effective synthesis route.

35. Conductivity measuring instrument

This conductivity measuring instrument can measure a wide range from extremely
small to large conductivity.

36. Mobile oxygen concentration meter

It is possible to accurately measure the oxygen concentration in gas and liquid in tens of seconds.
Oxygen concentration is calibrated by a thermometer. Since it has a built-in battery, you can take it
out of the field and use it.

37.Microscope (Dino 4915ZT)

Ultra-depth shooting, extended dynamic range, It can be magnified from 20 to 220 times, with 1280×1024 resolution, and measured with dedicated software.

38.Permeator (PD-1B, GASTECH)

It is a device for creating standard gases such as gas chromatography.
Standard organic gases of various concentrations can be prepared from any organic solvent.
